I’d say it runs a little deeper than all you describe in your experience - at least in regards to the management level. But, that’s also just my opinion based on experience.

And I agree with KML/OGC - especially noting that’ll force something that wasn’t otherwise possible in the mix that’s existed for decades. It’ll be a relief to see a variety of ‘things’ finally open-up, and mainly, because what choice is there but to compete within that paradigm?
