      <description>&lt;p&gt;As I said in response to Carl&amp;#8217;s post, distributed objects are what the OGC architects want, and SOAP is the inevitable conclusion. I don&amp;#8217;t understand why it&amp;#8217;s taken so long to get to it.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#8217;m a bit skeptical that the architects of WxS and GeoDRM are going to get REST right, and since my employer is not an OGC member I&amp;#8217;m unable to help them directly.&lt;/p&gt;</description>

&lt;p&gt;Yeah, distributed objects are &lt;a href="http://cfis.savagexi.com/articles/2006/07/27/a-community-for-rest" rel="nofollow"&gt;crack&lt;/a&gt; for software engineers.  Its almost impossible to break the habit, no matter how much you know deep down inside they are bad for you (wish I thought of that idea last night!).&lt;/p&gt;</description>
