As I said in response to Carl’s post, distributed objects are what the OGC architects want, and SOAP is the inevitable conclusion. I don’t understand why it’s taken so long to get to it.

I’m a bit skeptical that the architects of WxS and GeoDRM are going to get REST right, and since my employer is not an OGC member I’m unable to help them directly.

Hey Sean,

Yeah, distributed objects are crack for software engineers. Its almost impossible to break the habit, no matter how much you know deep down inside they are bad for you (wish I thought of that idea last night!).
